Women
KCC 24 A-I 23
Juniors
Crane 13 Najja 11
Men
Makerere 28 Power 18

Michael Kariuki and Ben Komakech were in double figures as hosts Makerere University dominated Sadolin Power 28-18 to win the men's accolade of the 37th edition of Makerere Open finals on Sunday.

The strong University team that had a collection of top players from league sides led all the quarters with Allan Tawoda and eventual MVP Kariuki notching 8 points apiece.

Komakech did all the assists to help the Inter-Universities champions avenge last year's loss to Power. Tournament top scorer Isaac Afidra made 10 points for his side.
In the women's seniors, KCC retained the title after a slim 24-23 win over league queens A-I Challenge.

The two sides had 6 points each at the end of the first quarter, but A-I's 7-3 score in the second gave them a 13-9 lead at half time. KCC then recovered and leveled matters at 13 all.

The tight game was destined for over-time with both teams locked at 23 points. But Miriam Hamala was fouled in the last two seconds and stepped on the charity line to convert one of two free throws that made the difference. This was after Josephine Namayega had held onto the ball for two minutes waiting for the final whistle to send the game into added time.

The junior girls' title went to Crane High after their 13-11 triumph over Najja High. Crane High Boys got a walk over after Najja High boys failed to turn up for the final.
