RAMATHAN Busulwa scored 33 points, the highest registered by one player in a single game, to help defending champions Lubiri High School overcome Bugema Adventist 65-58 in the ongoing Sprite tournament in Mbarara.
Joseph Kisitu and Elisha Wamala added eight apiece but Busulwa was man of the match, taking Lubiri through to the semifinals.

Bugema had an eight-point lead with three minutes to play in third quarter, but their star point guard Isaac Kigozi (8) fouled out towards the end of the quarter, leaving their backcourt exposed.
15-year-old Daniel Okwi top scored for Bugema with 22 points while Arthur Koroso added 16.

Meanwhile, Makerere College School (Macos) recovered from a disappointing start to beat Old Kampala 52-43 on Tuesday evening in Mbarara.
Macos had lost their opening game 53-61 to Lubiri High School but a determined performance in overtime saw them register their first win of the tournament.

Old Kampala had a 10-point lead with just three minutes to play in regular time but Macos fought back to win the game in overtime.
Four Old Kampala stars - David Kasobya, Simon Mutungi, Denis Kabuye and Denis Omondi all fouled out of the game for Macos to win the overtime session 11-02. Regulation time had ended 41-41.

Century Bottling Company Limited, through it’s Sprite brand has sunk Shs59m in the weeklong tournament.
No cases of illegal players, commonly referred to as mercenaries have been reported in the annual tournament which has produced most of the country’s top hoops stars.
