THE Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (Fuba) have been told to relocate their offices from YMCA Wandegeya. The institution intends to redevelop the plot on which the Fuba office sits.

"YMCA people have been very good to us and we must thank them for accommodating us for such a long time. We are looking around for options. This place has been very convenient but there is nothing we can do," Fuba president Ambrose Tashobya told Daily Monitor.

Fuba were paying over Shs2m in annual ground rent to YMCA but may find it difficult securing office space at that amount.

"We have tried NCS (National Council of Sports) but all they could get us is a store. But all in all we are grateful for their kind gesture," Tashobya stated.
"Office space in a very convenient location like Nakasero might be very costly but there is nothing to. We have to look for money and pay."

League games will however be hosted at YMCA for the time being but there are fears the basketball courts could also be redeveloped into other structures.

"The administration has assured us about the playing courts. As an institution, they also need recreation grounds. That's why we are sure of having our league games here," he added. The league begins on April 11.
