KPA men beat USIU men 75-55 in an ill-tempered match that had several stoppages, while KPA women defeated USIU flames 62-38 in another encounter.
The men's match was particularly mouth watering in the early stages, when USIU took a commanding 10-point lead at one point as KPA back-pedalled.
A single effort by former international Mike Opel saved the day for the dockers as he scored nine points in a row to narrow the gap to 17-09 in the first quarter.
This was the last time USIU took the lead.
Francis Odari was introduced, and he scored three-pointers at will to see KPA take a 26-10 lead in the second quarter as the dockers led 35-27 at the break.
The tense second half saw KPA's Musa Odari and Abel Nlson of USIU ejected after Odari punched Nlson, who retaliated.
Also ejected for committing two fouls was Aron Ramadhan of USIU, whose absence left a big gap.
Opel led the scorecard for KPA with 14 points while Francis Odari had 13 points and Mickey Wana 12 points.
