14th Champions Cup for women : CSA beat APR 74 – 58 in classification


CSA of Cote d’Ivoire pulled away to beat APR of Rwanda 74-58 in a FIBA Africa women club championships classification game played at Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium.
APR had a better first quarter where they took a 20-12 lead, but CSA recovered from this early mishap as they went on to take the second quarter 18-15. In the third quarter, Ivorians had their best quarter leading 26-15 and carried the day with a 18-8 edge in the last one.
Dedjema Ewdige and Kouyatte Kani led the Ivorian charge with 16 points each while Kolga Asssetou and Marriam Kouyatte bagged 12 points each and Begnini Yvonne made another 10. CSA will play for position five and six against Djoliba.
For the Rwandese who will now play Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) for position seven and eight, Purity Auma was tops with 16 points, Muhongerwa Alice scored 13 and Ndaya Blandine shot 11.
