Former MTN-Fuba League two-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) Norman Blick yesterday completed a move to champions Sadolin Power, ending speculation over his future.

Power and mid-table side Miracle Eagles have been chasing Blick’s signature for the past one month but the champions finally won the battle with the utility player signing a two-year contract worth Shs20m. “I am excited about joining Power. They are representing the country and hopefully I will do well with them in the Zone 5 Championship,” Blick said after putting pen to paper at Steak Out Bar yesterday.

The 2001 and 2004 MVP was summoned to the national team preparing for the Africa Zone 5 Championship qualifiers due next month, something he said is motivating him to make another big impact in his career. The reigning MVP Ben Komakech attended the signing ceremony and said he was pleased to have Blick on the squad. “I hope he will help us retain our title and do well in the Zone 5 tournament,” Komakech said.

Blick, who spurred Nkumba Marines to back to back championships in 2004 and 2005 was a free agent having sat out last year’s local season. He made the switch with his brother Donald Blick, whose transfer will cost Power Shs15m over two years. Donald will be returning from United Kingdom next month to team up with his brother at Power. The champions are also plotting to sign 2005 MVP Boniface Okello from Nkumba Marines.
