The team will be trained and coached by Mr. Lawal .P Brimah, Ghana's most senior coaches. He is currently the senior coach of the CEPS BRAVES who have for the past 10years dorminated club basketball. The team will be made up of young basketball prospects across the country, most of them will be participating in their first national team game. The team will be training at the lebanon house in Accra, the home of the Greater Accra Basketball League.
Preparation of the Ghana National Teams have not been of the best due to lack of assistance from stakeholders in the country. The GBBA hope to put together a young team who can uphold the name of Ghana in this first ever U16 FIBA AFRICA event. Unfortunately the girls team will not be competing in this years qualification due to lack of financial support. This tournament in Benin will be Ghana's first national team game for 2009
