LIBYA : Libya open win count in Beirut

Libya recorded the first win at the Arab Nations Cup in Lebanon. They shot down Kuwait to improve at 1-2 record in Group A. Libya thus left the last place in the ladder sending Kuwait at 0-3 record there. Mohamed Youssef (86) came up with 21 points to lead Libya.
Kuwait surged ahead in the opening frame. They posted a 23:21 lead ten minutes into the game. Libya challenged their opponents in the second term. The African side managed to get as close as one point at halftime 38:39. Libya maintained the pressure in the third period. They erased the deficit to level things up at 54 heading into the fourth quarter. Libya capitalized on several mistakes late in regulation to spur in front and seal the victory at the end. Abdallah Salim added 13 points for the winners. Rashed AlRabah (189-F-87) replied with 16 points for Kuwait. Libya will take on Morocco tonight, while Kuwait will face Egypt on Sunday
