KBC 81-42 Ferwaba

Kigali Basketball Club (KBC) capped their stellar display this season by lifting this year’s national men’s basketball league title on Saturday.

The debutants cruised to the title after a thunderous performance against Ferwaba Select. The game, which was played at Amahoro Indoor stadium, ended at 81-42.

For most parts of the match, KBC were clearly the better side thanks to Fiston Muhire’s dominant presence in the D.

The forward, who made eight rebounds and top scored with 25 points, was visibly the best player of the day proving why KBC head coach Pierre Gategabondo was willing to do everything in the off-season to lure him to the club.

“We are excited and very happy about this achievement. At the beginning of the season, we never thought we would finish this strong. It is a great feat for the boys, the fans and the club management,” Muhire elatedly said.

KBC, who only lost two games in the entire league, finished with 30 points, one ahead of APR.
