ZIMBABWE : Raiderz Begin Title Defence

CHAMPIONS Raiderz start the defence of their Ghetto Basketball League with a match against Hustlers at Mufakose courts today.

A total of 12 teams have entered for the GBL, which serves as a warm-up event to the Harare Basketball League.
The GBL will move to Mabvuku tomorrow before the semi-finals next Saturday at Dzivaresekwa courts
The finals are expected next Sunday at Hellenics Sports Club.
Two top teams from the pools will proceed to the semi-finals next week and Ngoni Mukhukhula, the Raiderz coach, will be hoping to start on a winning note.
Raiderz have Norest Shenje in the line-up while the veteran player will look forward to the support from the long serving Costa Mashati and Tatenda Maturure.
Hustlers could give the seasoned campaigners a good run for their money if their top players Brady Mungofa and Warren Teguma come to the party.
Another potentially interesting clash today will see Jammers taking on Cameo.
Jammers' trump card is Micheal Koffie while pointguard Lloyd Munyanduri and his brother Lawrence are likely to make the team.
The two sides are rekindling their rivalry from the old Mashonaland Basketball Association which gave way to the HBA. Last season Cameo were playing in a different league after their director Roderick
Takawira refused to recognised the HBA executive led by Gilcrest Magezah.
