Six KBF women premier league matches have been lined up this weekend at the Nyayo stadium gymnasium in Nairobi but the highlight of the weekend will be in the fixtures pitting defending champions Eagle Wings and current league leaders USIU Flames.

Eagle Wings will then take on Strathmore on Sunday at the same venue and Silalei Shani believes this weekend is crucial to her team’s quest towards retaining the title they won last season.
“We really enjoy challenging experiences and this weekend is one of those. We just need to remain in the right frame of mind because both USIU and Strathmore are not easy opponents.” Silalei said.
“But hey, we are the champions and we need to stay focused and strong. We will just go out there and do our thing in the best way possible but I am sure we have the quality to post wins in both matches. For us at this point we have a bigger picture of performing well ahead of the Zone 5 games in Kampala next month and positive results will boost our morale and mental preparedness.” She added.
In the matches played this season, USIU powered by Hilda Indasi have a clean 8/8 winning record having gone unbeaten this season and Eagle Wings hold the strong belief that they will be the ones to pour water on their Flames on Saturday.
“We don’t care about their unbeaten record, for us we want to win the match to keep our reputation back in shape. It was painful losing to KPA at home in the only match we have dropped this season. We lost not because KPA was better than us but simply because we played very poorly on that day. Good for us though, the loss gave us the reality that we need to work harder.” Silalei added.
Silalei has been in burning form this season coming top as the best scorer for the reigning champions in most of their matches and her fluid combination with hardworking Samba Mjomba, never say die Angela Okoth and the bully effects of Sande Evelyn will be crucial for an Eagle’s soar above the Flames.
