RWANDA : KBC Regain Top Spot, Espoir Remain Unbeaten

KIGALI Basketball Club (KBC) fought their way back to the helm of the national league standings with an 87-56 victory over National University of Rwanda (NUR) on Sunday at the latter's backyard in Huye.
The reigning champions remain unbeaten after securing their sixth successive win of the season with Congolese-naturalised Rwandan Mike Buzangu emerging the top scorer with a game high 35 points.
On Saturday, KBC also snatched an 89-50 victory over UGB.
Former champions APR overcame newcomers 30-Plus with 64-56, while Rusizi had no mercy for Kigali Institute of Education (KIE) whom they beat 100-60 with Patrick Kuribashi scoring a career high 42 points.
Another former champion, Espoir, also still unbeaten this season, remained on course with two important wins over Cercle Sportif de Kigali (CSK) 86-42 and APR 80-47.
KBC and Espoir jointly lead the league table with 12 points each, followed by APR with 10pts while CSK and KIE have with 8pts each; UGB and Rusizi are also tied on 7 points each, with NUR and 30-Plus lying bottom of the table with 5 points apiece.
