NIGERIA : First Deepwater Dominates Zenith Bank B'Ball League

Defending champion of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) organised Zenith Bank Women Basketball League, First Deepwater Basketball club, has remain undaunted in the quest to retain the league title it won three time in a row.
The team secured an emphatic 107-28 points victory over new entrant Coal City Queens basketball club of Enugu in Day-4 of the first phase holding in Abuja.
The Oil & Gas ladies who is ahead of title hopeful Sunshine Angels basketball club of Akure in group-A of the 2012/ 2013 season has won all four games played so far.
The club opens her title defence with a 62-47 points win over Nigeria Customs Service basketball team on Sunday and followed up with a clinical finish of 94-10 points against Taraba Hurricanes on Monday before shooting down GT 2000 basketball club of Kaduna by 62-14 points on Tuesday.
Some of the new teams in the league have display an attitude of competiveness by posting some amazing surprise over the older teams.
Teams such as Benue Princess Basketball club of Makurdi, IGP Queens Basketball club of Lagos and GT 2000 of Kaduna have really done well so far.
Thursday will be observed by all the teams as rest day while action resumes Friday with the last shot of the first phase will be witness on Sunday as the teams looks toward Asaba, Delta State for the second phase.
Four teams will qualify for the final-8 from both groups as fans will witness a new format being introduced by the NBBF.
