RWANDA : KBC Date Espoir in Hoops Final

As expected, Kigali Basketball Club will meet the reigning league champions Espoir in the men's final of the national basketball league at Amahoro stadium on November 1.
That Espoir would sweep APR in the best-of-three series in the semi-finals was a writing on the wall. It was just a matter of time and that would be behind both teams. The military side put up a contest in the first game losing 51-59 on Friday night, however, the next day, Espoir came charging and thrashed the Kacyiru-based team 77-45 in a one-sided game.
"We played well and we expected this win. The first one was a bit close but the second one, we were comfortable and enjoying the game," explained Espoir's captain Aristide Mugabe.
Espoir is yet to lose a game in the domestic league in two years and from the look of things, the status quo might prevail if KBC does not step up to the momentum expected in the post-season. KBC which also walloped Rusizi 97-71 on Friday night and won 79-64 in Game Two on Saturday evening booked a berth to the final.
KBC's head coach Cyrille Karima admits that it is a tough task ahead of him but he believes that his team is prepared for this stage and this is what they have been waiting for. If the regular season results are anything to go by then Karima is building castles in the air for Espoir defeated his side home and away in a convincing manner on both occassions.
"We are going to give this our very best and then we shall see how it goes," said Karima in an interview.
The playoffs commence next Friday at the Amahoro stadium.
