NIGERIA : NBBF Postpones Week Nine DStv Basketball League Matches

The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has postponed all Week Nine matches in the ongoing DStv Basketball League scheduled for May 2, an official said yesterday.
Agboola Pinheiro, a board member of the federation, told said in a chat in Lagos that week nine matches were postponed because of the league's prestigious All-Star Game.
Pinheiro said that the development would enable some players to participate in the All-Star match.
He said the week nine matches that were scheduled for May 2 across the Atlantic and the Savannah Conferences had been moved to May 9.
"We are set to witness yet another All-Star Game which comes up on May 3 in Lagos, hence the need to move the date of the matches across the two conferences.
"The shift in date will allow some selected players to participate in the prestigious event which will showcase the best of players from the two conferences.
"These set of players are also the best that have been monitored since the beginning of the season in March," he said.
The selected players from the Atlantic Conference narrowly defeated their opponents from the Savannah Conference 104-103 to win the 2012/2013 edition.
The Atlantic Team got N1million for their efforts while the Savannah Team got N500, 000.
